Postpartum Doula Services
WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?
A postpartum doula is a non-judgemental, caring individual, who helps a mother and her family during the "fourth
trimester", the first three months of life.
A
postpartum doula supports the mother and her family as they acclimate to parenthood, whether it is your first child or your
seventh!
She helps with the
care of the newborn, providing educated advice and assistance.
The doula also cares for the mother by providing nutritious meals, helping with light housework,
and running errands.
She also
helps older siblings acclimate to the new baby, and supports the partner as well.
She will aid in breastfeeding, bottle feeding, cloth/disposable diapering,
soothing and swaddling.
She
can also provide overnight care to provide exhausted parents a much needed break.
She can provide resource materials, such as how to find a permanent nanny
or baby nurse, or recommend books on child care basics.
